School Nurse

Our Mission:
The clinic at Greenville Elementary School is committed to promoting and supporting the health and educational success of all students. We encourage students to attend school regularly, provided they are in good health. If your child is ill, please keep them home to prevent the spread of infections.

When to Keep Your Child Home:
Students must stay home if they have:

  1. Fever over 100 degrees orally. They must be fever-free for 24 hours without medication before returning.
  2. Active vomiting or continuing diarrhea within the past 24 hours.
  3. Swollen or painful joints from injury.
  4. Severe earaches or uncontrollable pain.
  5. Untreated draining wounds.
  6. Suspected contagious diseases (refer to the Communicable Disease Reference Chart).
  7. Other specific conditions as outlined in our policy.

Reporting Absences:
Please notify the school at 540-422-7570 by 9:00 AM or email jennifer.dodson@fcps1.org if your child will be absent or arriving late.

  • Enrollment Requirements: All students need a physical exam within one year before school entry.
